Vacation spots have space for new visitors. Off-season rates are available at Wind-in-Pines after Labor Day for weekly reservations or minimum stays of 2 nights.

The weather is a bit cooler and more comfortable.

Loons return and waterfowl gather for their trips south.

Visit the outlet malls at North Conway, NH or Freeport, Maine.

Harvest fairs abound and nearby orchards are open to the public.
Cumberland Fair (Sept. 23-29) 10 miles away with harness racing, pulling events and exhibitions.
Fryeburg Fair (Sept. 30-Oct.7) 25 miles away with a midway, harness racing, ox and horse pulling, and woodsman day, etc.

The general fishing season continues through September 30. Catch and release only starts on October 1.

Foliage is typically at its peak of color around October 10-12 in our area.
